When you create a triggered message, it will be sent with the "Triggered HTML Footer," instead of the default HTML footer. Triggered messages are the messages sent through automations and drip campaigns. If your account's triggered footer is blank, you may see the following message when trying to send a triggered message:
"Are you sure you want to send this triggered message without a footer? A triggered message can append only a triggered footer, and the footer you selected does not have a triggered HTML/text footer."
To update your account's footer so that it has a triggered message footer, please follow these steps:
- Open Tools -> Edit Footers
- Double click to edit your account's footer
- Copy the HTML in the HTML Footer tab
- Scroll to the right to open the tab called "Triggered HTML Footer"
- Paste the HTML for the footer into this tab
- You'll also want to add the unsubscribe link to the "Triggered Text Footer" tab:

By following those steps, your triggered messages and normal messages will be sent with the same footer. The content doesn't have to be the exact same, however, that is sometimes the simplest approach.
